Disclaimer
Thank you for choosing to donate clothes to Bless Outfit. Every donation you make brings warmth and dignity to those in need. We offer three convenient donation methods; please choose the one most suitable for you.
Disclaimer and Donated Item Processing Information
Thank you for choosing to donate clothes to Bless Outfit. Your kindness brings warmth and dignity to those in need in Hong Kong. To ensure donated resources are used most appropriately and to maintain transparency in our operations, we hereby explain our receipt and subsequent processing principles for your attention.1. Heartfelt Thanks
Every donation, regardless of size or condition, carries your care for the community. We treasure this kindness and promise to handle each item with the utmost responsibility.2. Practical Operational Challenges
During our service, we have found that certain categories of clothing are more difficult to match or use within our current beneficiary group, for example:- Wedding dresses/formal gowns (special occasion wear, very low demand)
- Worn underwear, socks (usually cannot be re-gifted due to hygiene considerations)
- Single shoes (difficult to pair)
- Construction worker high-visibility vests (specific occupational clothing, limited demand)
- Severely damaged, stained, or non-functional clothing
- Extremely seasonal or outdated styles
3. Our Processing Commitment & Donor Agreement Terms
In handling the above items, we adhere to the following principles:i. Donor Agreement Statement
All acts of donation constitute the donor’s acknowledgement and acceptance of the processing methods and principles listed in this disclaimer, and agreement for our organisation to have full discretion over their final disposal method. We will exercise professional judgment and adhere to our charitable purpose in determining the most suitable method for handling each donated item.ii. No Easy Discarding
We promise not to treat your donations directly as waste for disposal. Every item will be assessed, sorted, and we will attempt to extend its value through various channels.iii. Multi-tier Matching Mechanism
- First Tier: Matching within our organisation’s beneficiary database.
- Second Tier: Making items available at in-person selection events open to all registered individuals.
- Third Tier: Matching with the needs of internal volunteers or cooperative community partners.
iv. Subsequent Processing Solutions
If, after the above stages, we are still unable to find a suitable new owner for an item, and given our organisation’s extremely limited storage space, we will process items in the following order of priority:- Donate to other similar second-hand clothing charitable organisations to broaden matching opportunities.
- Transfer to qualified commercial recycling or processing companies for professional recycling. Please note: The commercial companies receiving items have the right, based on their business model and after professional processing (e.g., cleaning, sanitising, sorting), to resell some suitable clothing. This is a commercial decision of those companies, which our organisation cannot and will not intervene in. In such collaborations, our organisation does not receive any fees or benefits, with the primary goal being the proper and environmentally sound handling of items.
- Only a very small number of items genuinely unsuitable for any form of reuse will be handed over to compliant environmental waste processors.
4. Kind Reminder
To ensure your kindness most directly and efficiently helps those in need, we sincerely suggest a simple pre-sorting before donating:- Priority Donations: Clean, intact, seasonally appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for everyday wear by adults or children.
- Pre-donation Enquiry: If unsure about an item’s suitability, please enquire in advance via email or social media.
